00:00
hi this is Laura Turner and today we’re
00:03
to talk about how to pull an all-nighter
00:04
we have all been there before we all
00:07
don’t want to go there again but if
00:08
you’re facing yourself you’re facing an
00:11
all-nighter in the face you’re going to
00:14
want to follow a couple key pieces of
00:16
advice so that you don’t actually just
00:18
you know sort of conk out and fall
00:20
asleep my first piece of advice is to
00:23
eat something but don’t over eat all my
00:27
advice today about this stuff is going
00:29
to be sort of everything in moderation
00:31
make sure that you eat foods that are
00:35
you know sort of high in nutrients don’t
00:38
eat a lot of you know junk food it’s
00:40
just going to make you feel bloated and
00:41
tired next drink enough coffee to stay
00:45
awake but don’t drink too much coffee my
00:48
first all-nighter I had a very tall cup
00:51
of basically just espresso and I drank
00:56
it all and I was so wired for the rest
01:00
of the night that I couldn’t concentrate
01:01
on anything and I was sort of flooding
01:03
from one thing to the next and I got
01:04
nothing done so make sure you don’t
01:07
drink too much coffee next keep hydrated
01:11
drink lots of water water is probably
01:14
gonna be the most important thing for
01:15
you to drink because it’s not going to
01:17
give you any excess sugar it’s just
01:20
going to keep you sort of concentrating
01:22
on being awake feeling good and drinking
01:27
water good next get comfortable but not
01:30
too comfortable sometimes if you’re
01:33
wearing your pajamas to the study it’s
01:37
very nice to wear them while you’re
01:38
studying but if you’re going to pull an
01:40
all-nighter I was actually suggest
01:42
wearing your clothes because that’s
01:45
going to for most people force you to
01:48
actually get out of your clothes in
01:51
order to fall asleep brothers I’m just
01:53
falling asleep in your pajamas because
01:55
you’re already in them and you’re
01:56
studying in them next piece of advice
01:59
you can actually in if this is if you
02:02
don’t want to do it in your own home if
02:03
you think it’s going to help you go to a
02:05
public place and stay there as long as
02:07
possible to study stay in the library as
02:10
long as you can stand it
02:11
because other people around you will
02:14
help you to stay awake and it will give
02:16
you a little bit more oomph to your
02:18
studying and finally keep music or other
02:21
noise going to keep yourself awake and
02:26
also make sure it’s not very you know
02:28
stressful music classical music is good
02:32
because it’s it’s not as you know sorry
02:35
you don’t want ambient music that’s
02:36
going to put you to sleep but you want
02:38
some music that’s going to keep you
02:39
concentrated and classical music is
02:41
pretty much the music to keep you
02:43
concentrated while you’re studying so
02:46
don’t stress yourself out with your
02:47
music okay and hopefully you can follow
02:51
these pieces of advice and that will
02:52
help you to pull your all nighter
02:54
successfully
